can all enable the energy storage system to achieve different degrees of balancing. The current of passive balancing is about 100mA, and the balancing current that can be achieved by active balancing is usually within 5A.

Adding DC/DC modules such as battery cluster manager/balancer/optimizer can achieve a larger balancing current. In a popular way, active balancing is similar to "robbing the rich to help the poor",

while passive balancing only "robs the rich but does not help the poor". Passive balancing belongs to energy dissipation balancing, which is to connect a resistor in parallel to the battery cell.

When some batteries are not fully charged and some batteries are fully charged, the resistor releases the electricity in the form of heat to the fully charged batteries.

Active balancing is a non-energy dissipative balancing method that transfers energy from high-energy cells to low-energy cells during the battery charge and discharge cycle.
